Best Legacy College of Education, Ogbomoso, on Thursday held its 16th convocation alongside its matriculation ceremony, graduating 206 students and formally admitting 364 new entrants for the 2024/2025 academic session.

The combined ceremony, held within the college premises, underscored the steady growth of the institution since its establishment in 2007.

Speaking at the event, the Provost, Dr Obajemu Victor Michael, revealed that the college has produced more than 6,000 National Certificate in Education (NCE) graduates since inception.

Addressing the graduating class, Dr Obajemu commended their determination and endurance throughout their academic journey, reflecting on the demands they overcame.

He said: “You’ve balanced academics, tests, and exams, often juggling multiple responsibilities. You’ve faced self-doubt, pushed through exhaustion, and celebrated small victories. And today, here you stand, proud and accomplished.”

He further advised the newly matriculated students to set clear goals, embrace a growth mindset, remain disciplined, and steer clear of cultism, stressing the importance of focus and character in achieving success.

The graduands were equally encouraged to remain adaptable, build resilience, and commit themselves to continuous learning as they prepare to contribute meaningfully to the teaching profession and the wider society.
In his remarks, the Proprietor and Director of the college, Hon. Dr John Abisoye Oke, praised the management, lecturers, and students for their collective efforts in “shaping minds and mentoring hearts.”
He also expressed gratitude to parents and guardians for their sacrifices and continued support of their children’s education.
Demonstrating his commitment to expanding access to teacher education, Dr Oke announced the award of scholarships to 104 students.
He reiterated his dedication to educational advancement across Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South, and the Oriire Federal Constituency, emphasising that “education remains the best legacy we can give our children.”
“There is no height our students cannot attain if they are armed with quality education. It is the one essential tool for life,” he added.
