In fulfilment of his electioneering promises to the people, the Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele, has commissioned four motorised water borehole projects across four wards of the Local Government, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to improving access to clean water and enhancing the welfare of residents.
    ‎
‎The commissioned projects are located in Ayede, area of Ward 2; Ajia-ajiwogbo area of Ward 4; Adekola/Iyana Agbala, area of  Ward 10; and Egbeda area of Ward 9, bringing the benefits of sustainable clean water supply closer to residents in the various communities.
    ‎
‎The projects are part of the administration’s deliberate efforts to address the water needs of the people, particularly in communities where access to reliable and clean water has remained a challenge.
    ‎
‎Speaking during the commissioning ceremonies, Hon. Sanda Sikiru said “the water scheme is borne out of the overwhelming desire to address the needs of the people. He continued by admonishing the people to ensure that whatever projects located in those areas should be maintained and protected while also reiterating that his administration would continue to translate its promises into tangible projects that directly impact the lives of residents.
    ‎
‎He noted that the projects were conceived not merely as infrastructural developments but as practical interventions aimed at improving public health, supporting households and businesses, and reducing the burden associated with accessing water.
    ‎
‎According to him, “Our promises to the people are not meant to remain on campaign platforms. We made commitments, and we are determined to keep them. These motorised boreholes are another demonstration of our resolve to provide people-oriented and needs assessment projects across Egbeda Local Government.”
    ‎
‎The Chairman further assured residents that his administration would continue to identify critical needs across the wards and channel available resources toward projects that would deliver meaningful and sustainable benefits to the people.
    ‎
‎The DG, Oyo State, Lagos, Abuja liaison office, Hon. Busari Olayemi said, human survival is dependent on water, thus the Commissioning of these boreholes has multi-facet benefits. Ultimately, the development of projects such as boreholes, are part of endeavors to build greater resilience at the grassroot level.
    ‎
‎In the separate goodwill messages, Residents and community leaders across the benefiting wards expressed appreciation to the Chairman for fulfilling his promise, describing the projects as timely and valuable interventions that would positively affect the communities.
    ‎
‎The commissioning of the four motorised boreholes further underscores the administration’s commitment to good governance, grassroots development, accountability and the delivery of democratic dividends to the people of Egbeda Local Government.
‎Promise made. Promise kept. More dividends of democracy for the people of Egbeda.
