The people of Akinyele Local Government appreciates the Governor of Oyo State Engr. Seyi Makinde and his wife Engr. Mrs Tamunominini Olufunke Makinde for extending the dividend of democracy to them at the grassroot level through his political son Hon. Taoreed Adedigba Jimoh the caretaker chairman Akinyele LG.
Hon. Taoreed Adedigba Jimoh in his speech at the commissioning program welcomes the Executive Governor of Oyo State Engr. Seyi Makinde and a crop of important personalities to Akinyele Local Government on the occasion of of the commissioning of some public oriented projects embarked upon by the present administration in Akinyele. He said he’s bold to say that Oyo State, more than ever before is now more focused, disciplined, dynamic and result-oriented under the visionary leadership of our Governor. He added that we at the grassroot level have equally keyed into the four (4) main service agenda of the State Government which is EDUCATION, HEALTH, SECURITY and ECONOMY driven by Agriculture.
The caretaker chairman Hon. Taoreed Adedigba Jimoh in his speech seized the opportunity to appreciates His Excfor putting this Local Government in the front burner of development projects being undertaken by his administration since his assumption of office. These includes the total reconstruction of a 76km road linking Moniya with Iseyin town to improve both human and vehicular movements on the road hitherto abandoned for several years back, the resuscitation of the pacesetter Quarry/Asphaltic plant company located at Ijaye which had earlier become moribund due to its abandonment for (8) solid years by the immediate past administration in the State, acquisition of several hectares of land at Olorisa Oko area for the establishment of dry port, release of Ten Million Naira (10m) cash donation to the victims of fire disaster at Akinyele Oja Agbe market whose shops and valuable properties were ravage by fire in March this year and recently, consideration of Akinyele Local Government in the of a Football Stadium being planned by the State Government. All these are in addition to various capital projects going on simultaneously across the nocks and crannies of the State in general. We are also grateful to His Excellency for his prompt response to the security challenges faced by the Local Government in the last few months which by the grace of God have been positively addressed. The relentless efforts of all our security personalities are appreciated in this regards he said.
As we are following the landmark achievement of His Excellency, our GSM, I wish to showcase some people oriented projects carried out by my administration as a caretaker chairman to complement the effort of the State Government which are humbly being presented for commissioning and some for inspection today he added.
The highlight of the projects are as follows :
1) Total renovation of the Local Government Secretariat Complex Moniya.- Commissioned by the PDP State Secretary Alahji Wasiu Adeleke.
2) Total renovation of a block of three (3) classrooms at Kannike area of Elekuru.- Commissioned by Mr Remi Ayodele ( Chairman Civil Service Commission )
3) Construction of a block of six (6) rooms modern toilet with water facilities at Moniya Central Mosque.- Commissioned by Mr Segun Ajeigbe (Permanent Secretary Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters) who represents Chief Bayo Lawal ( Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters )
4) Construction of Ablution shed at Moniya Central Mosque. – Commissioned by Mr Segun Ajeigbe (Permanent Secretary Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters)
5) Sinking of Motorized Borehole at Baale’s compound, Moniya.- Commissioned by Mr Segun Ajeigbe (Permanent Secretary Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters)
6) Sinking of Motorized Borehole at K.O Ishola Estate, Sawmill, Oluwakemi Community, Moniya. Commissioned by Alahji Rafiu Adebiyi ( PDP Akinyele Leader.)
7) Sinking of Hand pumping Borehole at Olomitutu area via Iseyin Road.- Commissioned by Mr Remi Ayodele ( Chairman LG Service Commission )
8) Sinking of Hand pumping Borehole at Molarere Community.
9) Sinking of Hand pumping Borehole at Oke Balogun area of Ijaye.
10)Sinking of Hand pumping Borehole at Elekuru Kannike Community.
11)Asphaltic patching of potholes at Olomowewe via IITA road and J&P junction to Fatokun area, Moniya.
12)Provssion of Solar-Powered Street Lights at the following locations :
* Local Government Secretariat
* Moniya Junction to Apapa- express road.
* Moniya garage/Abattoir
* Moniya Shopping Complex
* White house street,Moniya.
* Ajani Villa street
* Hacco street
* Prestige street
* Aregbe street.
13)Establishment of a new garage and opening of new roads at Idi Ose market.
14)Ongoing Akinyele Fish farming project.
15)Financial assistance to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) for the construction of their ongoing Auditorium.
16)Financial assistance to the Traditional religious sect (ISESE) for their ongoing constitution of worship centre.
