Oyo state government has advised the people of the state to align with the policies and programmes of the present administration to ensure they enjoy the dividends of democracy.

This was disclosed by the Special Assistant to Governor Seyi makinde on Community Relation, Hon. Olufemi Josiah during a town hall meeting with the people of Oke-ogun federal constituency1 which was held at Oja-Oba, Iseyin.

To evaluate the performance of the present administration from the community people at the grassroot level

Hon. Josiah assured that the requests of the people being discussed during the meeting would be documented and be placed on the table of the governor as a report. According to Hon Josiah,

“We are here today to meet with the community people to have a robust discussion with them to review the performance of Engineer Seyi Makinde government since May 29th, 2019, to have a look at the reaction of the people to some of the projects the government have been doing to get the proper feedback from the people that voted for us because we are representing them.”

“And we promised to give them dividend of democracy. We are here today to talk to them, to listen to their complain, to evaluate the performance of the government from the community people at the grassroot level.

All the requests they asked from the government today will be put on the governor’s table, we assured them that everything that was discussed today would be documented and will be put on the governor’s table as a report.”

“My advice is that, they should align with the policy and programmes of Engineer Seyi Makinde government, because they are meant for the people. We are doing a lot in terms of advocacy, in time of information dissemination but as we find out that a lot of things government is doing that the people are not aware, that is why we come here today to talk directly to the community leaders, believing the things we have discussed with them they will take them back home to their people in their various constituencies once they align with the policies of state government promises. All what we promised them during the campaign, will be surely fulfilled.”

“My plan is to go round the state before the end of this year, my office is open for any complain, we have done Oyo, today we are doing Iseyin, Iwajowa, Itesiwaju and Kajola federal constituency, once we get approval we would be moving to Saki West, East federal constituency and Atisbo.

We would equally go out and not only Oke-ogun, because we need to bring the people where it will be easy for them to assemble and for the government representative to speak to them.”

“In their separate remarks, the community development council of various communities at Oke-ogun federal constituency1, requested the present government in the state to ensure they provide security, , establishment of higher Institution in their constituency,to empower their youth and also asked the government to renovate Ikere gorge dam to boost the electricity of the region.”
