Chairman of the Oyo State at 50 Committee and two-term Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Saheed Akinade-Fijabi, has unveiled his plan for a greater Oyo State.

Akinade-Fijabi, who appeared before the Oyo State Advisory Council, the body saddled with the responsibility of screening Governorship aspirants in Ibadan, on Thursday, expressed his desire to ensure that the Pacesetter State continues to enjoy sustainable development started by Governor Seyi Makinde, who he described as the Engineer of Modern Oyo State.

According to the politician, who served as the Member representing Ibadan North-West/South-West Federal Constituency, the biggest and most urbanised federal constituency in Oyo State, for two consecutive terms between 2011 and 2019, said he is poised to serve the good People of Oyo State and to make it an Eldorado if he is given the opportunity to govern the state.

Akinade-Fijabi, who has, over the years garnered experience in real estate, hospitality and politics, said he is ready and fired up to take Oyo State to the next level, noting that his wealth of experience as a ranking legislator and a politician who is close to the grassroots has placed him on great pedestal and given him an edge above most other contenders.

The lawmaker, whose latest success story was the seamless and colorful organisation of the Oyo State at 50 Anniversary, a 9-day event that showcased the glory and history of the Pacesetter State, said he has the requisite skills and passion to make Oyo State greater post-Governor Makinde.

Akinade-Fijabi, who holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Real Estate and Construction) from the University of Reading, Reading, United Kingdom; a Master of Science (MSc) in Project Management from the University of Greenwich, London United Kingdom and a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management from the College of Management, Reading, among other academic and professional qualifications, said he also holds an advantage as one of the youngest individuals seeking to govern the state.

He maintained that it is, indeed, the time for generational shift in the leadership of Oyo State and that the teeming youths of the state would rally round him in line with the popular trend “Da ti e mo!”

The former lawmaker, who dazzled the members of the screening panel, which included legal icons, outstanding administrators technocrats and politicians, said that if anyone other than himself emerges as the Governorship Flagbearer, he will, as a loyal party man, work with such person.
