Easter: Imbibe the lessons of love, sacrifice, Oorelope LG chairmanship candidate charges Christians

Christians have been urged to imbibe the lessons of love, sacrifice and other values exemplified by Jesus Christ as they celebrate Easter.
The chairmanship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oorelope Local Government, Hon. Akeem Raheem, gave this charge on Saturday, while felicitating Christians in the local government.
Raheem, according to a statement signed by the media coordinator of his campaign, Musediq Ayandiji, equally charged Christian faithful across Oyo State to also continue to pray for and support the government of Governor Seyi Makinde.
He maintained that the Easter season is renowned for being a solemn and sober period for Christians to reflect, calling on them to continue to demonstrate love, brotherliness and other values, which Christ preached.
He said: “I join the rest of the world to celebrate Christian faithful in Oorelope Local Government and across Oyo State.
“As the chairmanship candidate of the PDP, I am also using the occasion to assure Christians and in fact, all religions, that if elected, I will run a God-fearing government that does not discriminate against any religion or group.
“I equally want to encourage them to continue to pray for and support the government of our Leader, His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, who has shown the determination to develop Oyo State, because as the Bible says, anyone who seeks the good of the land will also prosper.
“I wish everyone a happy Easter celebration.
