Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has been commended for keeping his campaign promises by ensuring an all-inclusive development of the state.

Former Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Barr. Adeniyi Farinto, gave this commendation on Thursday, following the Oyo State Executive Council’s approval of contracts for the Igboho-Kisi Road Project and the Mobile Police Force Base, Ago-Are, among other projects.

Farinto, who served as the Deputy Director-General of the Seyi Makinde Campaign Organisation for the governor’s re-election in 2023, said the approvals meant a lot to the people of the 10 local governments of Oke Ogun.

According to the lawyer and former House of Assembly member, the Igboho-Kisi Road and the Mobile Police Force Base formed major parts of the governor’s campaign in 2023 and the approval for the projects meant that the governor could be trusted.

He appreciated Governor Makinde for keeping his word to the people of Oke Ogun, noting that the people are solidly behind him and would always support, having realised that he has always had the interest of the zone at heart.
Barr. Farinto maintained that the massive attendance at the meetings of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oke Ogun and across the local government councils recently have indicated that the people remained solidly behind the governor and that they will continue to support him as a reward for his love for the zone.

He said: “The approvals for the 30km Igboho-Kisi Road and the construction of the Mobile Force Base, Ago-Are have vindicated Governor Makinde as a man that keeps his promise.
“The governor made many promises to the good people of Oke Ogun during the electioneering. The Igboho-Kisi Road was a major part of that promise. So also are the Orita-Okeho-Ilero Road and the Alaga-Otu-Ilero-Iganna-Idiko Ile Road.

“With the approval for the construction of the Igboho-Kisi Road, which will serve the three local governments in Irepo/Olorunsogo/Oorelope Federal Constituency, our people can rest assured that the governor will keep his word on the latter, which will serve the three councils in Iseyin Federal Constituency.

“The governor campaigned everywhere during the electioneering and he assured the people that he would ensure an all-inclusive and all-round development of Oyo State, these approvals have proven that he meant every one of those promises.

“As a reward for his love for Oke Ogun, the people of the zone have demonstrated their loyalty to Governor Makinde and they will always support him to succeed. The recent meeting of the Oke Ogun PDP and subsequent meetings across each council have also shown that the people are solidly behind the governor.
    “May GSM continue to succeed.”
