    IBADAN NORTH EAST, IBADAN EAST COUNCIL BOSSES MOVE TO TACKLE INSECURITY

    Worried by the  rising wave of crime within ibadan metropolis,  Chairmen of Ibadan north east local government, Hon. Ibarahim Akintayo and his Ibadan East LCDA counterpart, HON Abiodun Babalola,  have  summoned a joint security  meeting to urgently tackle  the ugly trend.

    The meeting which comprises, representatives of the police, Nigeria security and civil defense corps( NSCDC), vigilante groups, odua people’s congress, ( opc)  among others is aimed at fashioning out modalities to nip the ugly trend in the bud.

    Residents of some parts of the city have witnessed series of attacks by hoodlums and armed robbers who  dispossessed victims of their cash and other valuables  as a result of the partial lockdown in the   state due to the coronavirus scourge ravaging the country and most parts of the world

    Hon Babalola who spoke with GOALPOACHER NEWS, said,
    “the local governments called the meeting to figure out ways we can arrest the situation ”

    “We are going to double our relationship with the security agencies and collaborate  with other stakeholders such as the  Community Development Council ( CDC) and CDI , religious leaders as sell  as other stakeholders and the reports we have today will give us a direction to move.”

    Hon. Babalola, while assuring that more fund would be injected to ensure efficiency of  security operations.
    He called for calm among residents as arrangements are in top gear to arrest the situation

    Also speaking, the Chairman, Ibadan North East, Hon Ibrahim Akintayo, assured  that everything humanly possible would be done within the confines of the law to protect the lives and property of the people.

    ” I want to assure you that we are doing everything possible within the confines of the law to make sure our people are at peace at night.”
