The Executive Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode, Arole Omituntun has bagged the OUTSTANDING PERSONALITY OF IBADANLAND AWARD.
The honour was bestowed on him by Ibadan Mega Voice (IMV), a Prestigious Association that brings together Ibadan Indigenes in the communication field, alongside his counterpart at Egbeda Local Government who is also the ALGON Chairman in Oyo State, Hon. Sikiru Sanda, Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Wole Akinleye, the popular Ibadan based fuji musician, Alhaji Taye Akande Adebisi, Currency, the CEO of Agidigbo radio station, Alhaji Oriyomi Hazmat and many others.
According to the President of IMV, Mr Kola Olomide, the commitment of Hon. Alawode to the progress of Ibadan land and especially, the well being of the people of Ibadan South East Local Government are noticed and have brought him the well-deserved recognition.
Mr Olomide reiterates that the achievement of Arole Omituntun is a testament to his exceptional abilities that makes the Ibadan Indigenes to be proud of him.
In his own speech at the programme, the President General of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, Barrister ‘Niyi Ajewole affirmed that dedication and hard work of Hon. Alawode have paid off in the most remarkable way and that is why he is been honoured with the award. He stressed that he was not surprised many Local Government Chairmen were among the awardees because they have portrayed themselves as pillars of support to Ibadanland.
The CCII President General then appreciated all the eleven Local Government Chairmen in Ibadanland for their financial support to CCII, especially towards the completion and maintenance of new Olubadan house.
While appreciating the organiser of the programme for the honour, Hon. Alawode submitted that the award is a call to do more and a reminder that all acts of every individual is being watched and would be rewarded accordingly.
He thanked his wife, Deaconess Omolola Oladunni Alawode for being his strength, the CCII President General, the Political Functionaries and Management staff of Ibadan South East Local Government that were present. He then promised more positive turnaround in the local government and Ibadanland at large.
Present at the occasion were the Leader of Legislative arm,Ibadan South East Local Government who is also the Chairman of Oyo State Councillors Forum, Hon. Ayodeji Oladepo and other members of the house, the Chief of Staff, Hon. Olusegun Oludaye, the Head of Local Government Administration, Dr. Mrs Agnes Olakunbi Ojo, the Director of Administration and General services, Alhaja Tawakalitu Olufunke Adedotun, the Director of Finance, Mr Abidemi Ogunmakinde and many others.
