The Executive Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode, has reaffirmed the commitment of the council to sustaining peace, security, and the protection of lives and property across the local government.
This assurance was given during a security meeting held at the Council Secretariat, Mapo, Ibadan, with key stakeholders in attendance to deliberate on strategies for strengthening security and maintaining a peaceful environment.
Discussions focused on strengthening collaboration among security agencies, traditional institutions, religious bodies, and the local government to address emerging security challenges and enhance intelligence gathering within the communities.
Participants emphasized the importance of vigilance, timely information sharing, and continuous cooperation among all stakeholders to ensure lasting peace and security across Ibadan South East Local Government.
Hon. Alawode assured them of the Council’s continued support and called on all stakeholders to work together to ensure lasting peace, safety, and security across the local government.
During the meeting, the Head of Local Government Administration, Dr. Agnes Olakunbi Ojo, charged the security agencies to be more proactive in the discharge of their duties. She urged them to strengthen intelligence gathering, improve inter-agency collaboration, and respond swiftly to security threats in order to ensure the continued safety of lives and property within the local government.
In attendance at the meeting were representatives of the Traditional Council, Religious Leaders, the Vice Chairman, Hon. Teslim Ogundeji; the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Kazeem Kareem; the Assistant Secretary, Hon. Abosede, the Acting HLGA, Mr. Abiola Adeleke; the Director of Administration and General Services (DAGS), Mr. Kayode Bamgbade; the Deputy Director of Administration and General Services, Mr. Badmus Adebayo; the Establishment Officer, Mrs. Omowumi Dawodu; as well as representatives of various security agencies.
The meeting concluded with a collective resolve to intensify efforts aimed at safeguarding residents and promoting a peaceful atmosphere conducive to growth and development.
