Announcing the free UTME scholarship on Saturday, January 27, 2024, Hon. (Dr.) Adepoju said the selection of the constituents who will benefit from the programme will be transparently carried out in each of the five towns that make up the federal constituency.

According to him, a group of committed individuals is being set up to conduct an aptitude test for prospective jambites across each town in the federal constituency on Wednesday, January 31, 2024.

Speaking further, the Deputy Chairman House Committee on Federal Character stressed that qualified candidates from the test, including all other jambites in the constituency, will undergo free UTME tutorial session specifically targeted at improving scores and performance until the last week that the 2024 UTME examination will hold, adding that experienced and diligent teachers are already being engaged to take the candidates on different subjects in order for them to come out with flying colours in the examination.

“The initiative will run concurrently with the ongoing school year calendar without any overlap,” he expressed.

Ibarapakan said each community in the constituency will have a tutorial centre with the necessary facilities to achieve the purpose of the exercise.

He also promised that qualified applicants from the test and all other jambites in the two local government areas will undergo practical CBT simulation experience on how to answer computer-based tests to prevent poor performance and make the candidates more acquainted with the system used by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
