‎Asiwaju Oladimeji Olatilewa Ayinla prominent political figure in Ido local government has formally resigned his membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing internal party crises and the need for a clearer political direction ahead of the 2027 general elections.

‎In a press statement personally signed and made available to journalists in Ibadan on Tuesday, Asiwaju disclosed that his resignation followed deep personal reflection and wide consultations with associates, supporters, and political stakeholders.

‎According to him, his resignation letter has been duly submitted to the PDP Ward Chairman in Ido Local Government Area, effectively ending his years of active participation within the party’s structure.

‎He also requested the removal of all his personal data, including his name, National Identification Number (NIN), email address, and phone number, from PDP records and databases.

‎Despite his exit from the party, Asiwaju expressed continued respect and admiration for the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, describing his leadership style and governance philosophy as an inspiration to many young progressive politicians across the state.

‎“My loyalty, respect, and admiration for Governor Seyi Makinde remain unshaken,” he stated, while acknowledging the influence of the governor’s administration on his political development.

‎In further clarification on his decision, the chairmanship aspirant emphasized that his exit was not driven by hostility but by strategic repositioning.

‎“This decision was not made lightly. It is born out of careful reflection on the current state of the party and the need to build a more focused and people-driven political structure that aligns with the aspirations of my constituents,” he said.
