Labour Day: Sheriff Adeojo Congratulates Workers, Urges Support for Labour Unions
Hon. Sheriff Adeojo has congratulated workers of Oyo state, particularly workers of Ido local government area on the occasion of the Labour day celebration. In a congratulatory message made available to the media, Adeojo urges workers to continue to uphold the flag of progressivism that helps sustain the dignity of labour, while also urging government at various tier to support labour in this quest.
Adeojo who is the Chairmanship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for Ido local government in the forthcoming election in the state noted that “the labour force remains an integral part of the machinery that is moving the state forward and as such should be held in high esteem. He also indicated in his labour day message that “The reason why it is said that celebrate workers, celebrate the existence and growth of a nation is because of the cardinal role labour plays in the development of every society”
Speaking further, Adeojo commended the Oyo state governor Engr. Seyi Makinde for his commitment to the welfare of the state employees, while also reiterating he will follow his footsteps in ensuring that workers in Ido local government receive adequate welfare package, when he assumes office as the elected chairman of Ido local government.
Adeojo stressed that Labour is the ladder through which human dignity and creative excellence are expressed, and therefore will always work with labour leaders and unions in achieving their objectives.
