Ahead of the April 27 Local Government Election in Oyo State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Oorelope Local Government chapter has inaugurated a campaign council to coordinate the campaign activities of the party’s chairmanship candidate, Hon Jacob Oluwale Ogundiran and other candidates.
The campaign council, which was inaugurated on Wednesday at the Baptist Central School, Oke-Afin, Igboho, has aides of Governor ‘Seyi Makinde; former members of the House of Assembly and many PDP stalwarts in the council as members.
The Council is headed by Hon. Adekunle Aderemi Ismail, while Hon. Yusuf Wasiu Adetunji and the PDP Candidate in the 2023 House of Assembly election in the Council, Hon. Adewale Olowookere will serve as Deputy DG and Secretary of the campaign council, respectively.
The newly-inaugurated campaign council has 14 Directorates to coordinate several aspects of the campaign including mobilisation, voter education, election monitoring, finance, strategy and media and publicity, among others.
The duo of Special Adviser on Labour Matters to Governor ‘Seyi Makinde, Comrade Bayo Titilola-Sodo and Special Assistant (Print Media) to the Governor, Moses Alao, were appointed as Director of Finance and Director of Media & Publicity, respectively.
Former member of the House of Assembly and immediate past chairman of Agriculture Credit Corporation of Oyo State, Hon. Lukman Balogun, is to head the Directorate of Election Planning and Strategy, while Revd. (Mrs) Adeboyin Oladokun will head the Women Affairs Directorate.
Another former member of the House of Assembly, Hon. Rabiu Musiliu Adesola will head the Directorate of Voter Education, while the Local Government Party Chairman, Alhaji Adeoti Azeez is to head the Directorate of Local Government and Ward Coordinators.
The Oyo North Senatorial Chairman of the PDP, Hon. Yusuf Adekunle; Prince Muritala Adeladan; Special Assistant on Federal Constituency, Sarafadeen Yusuf Alani; Alhaji Yakubu Oladoja; Oorelope LG PDP Chairman, among others, were also sworn-in as members of the Election Planning and Strategy Directorate.
Other members of the Directorate are the PDP Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Ogundiran; his running mate, Hon. Babatunde; Alhaji Safariyu Oyelowo; Hon. Moses Alao and the Local Government Chairman, among others.
