Makinde to construct first flyover in Ogbomoso zone before 2023, vows to proffer solutions to problems rather than engage in blame game

… Says work to begin on Iseyin to Ogbomoso road soon

Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has promised to construct the first flyover in Ogbomoso zone before the expiration of his first tenure in 2023.

The governor equally added that the state government will soon embark on the construction of Iseyin to Ogbomoso road.

He made this known on Tuesday while commissioning the High Dependency Unit at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital in Ogbomoso.

GOALPOACHER NEWS quoted the governor as saying: “When I got here this afternoon, I worked almost the entire stretch of the Under-G road. I asked those staying around the environment if the street light work in the evening and they answered affirmatively.

“The Light-Up Oyo State will also have more routes in Ogbomoso where the street light will be installed to enhance our security.”

“While I was going round some places here in Ogbomoso, I was looking for a flyover bridge but could not see any. Now, I want you to hold me to this promise within two years that is left for this administration, before May 2023, we will have a flyover here.”

Makinde lamented the infrastructure deficit, which the state was witnessing before the advent of his administration, saying that it has made things very difficult for his administration.

He said despite that, he would continue to make effort to proffer solutions to problems rather than engage in a blame game.

He said: “It is the duty of the FG to exclusively manage the road coming from Ibadan to Ilorin but I don’t know when it will be completed. But we can have a proper solution that will be unique to Oyo State and one of the local solutions is, we have done Ibadan to Iseyin and we will soon award Iseyin to Oyo. And we will soon start Iseyin to Ogbomoso. So, if anyone is coming from Ibadan and cannot use the federal road, he or she can divert to the state road.”
