    Many Feared Dead as Suspected Bandits Attack Residents of Igangan, Makinde Confirms Attack

    Many people were feared dead in Igangan community of  Ibarapa North local government area of Oyo state following an attack by suspected bandits at the early hours of Sunday morning.

    However, Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has appealed to residents of Igangan in Ibarapa North local government area of Oyo State to remain calm following the invasion of the town by unknown gunmen who reportedly killed some residents  and set palace and filling station ablaze at the early hours of this morning.

    According to Makinde, “I have received the shocking news of the attacks on residents of Igangan, in Ibarapa land and in the early hours of this morning. I am currently being briefed on the incidents. I urge residents to remain calm as security Operatives are now in control of the situation.”

    The number of casualties cannot be ascertained as of the time of filing this report but reliable sources added that many were injured.
