OMI-APATA LCDA BOSS, ADEOJO CHARGES RESIDENTS ON FLOOD PREVENTION

Residents of Omi-Apata Local Council Development Area have been charged to desist from dumping of refuse in drainage, streams and rivers in order to prevent flooding.

The Caretaker Chairman of Omi-Apata LCDA Hon Sheriff Adeojo gave the charge during the general meeting of Community Development Council ( CDC) held at the council Secretariat, Omi-Adio.

Hon Sheriff Adeojo stressed the need for all residents of the LCDA to comply with environmental sanitation laws by disposing their waste properly.

The council chairman said his administration has embarked on dredging of streams and rivers at Alaaka, Jamoje, Bako, Abese, Omi-Adio and therefore appealed to the people to cooperate with the government to prevent flooding, loss of lives and properties during this raining season.

While enlightening the representatives of Community Development Associations, the Director of Environmental Health Services Omi-Apata LCDA Mr Segun Adegokr encouraged them to have waste drum in all the houses for proper waste disposal by contractors.

The Community Development Council Chairman of the LCDA, Mr M. O Ishola appreciated Hon Sheriff Adeojo for embarking on various developmental projects and also solicited for more projects in all the communities in Omi-Apata LCDA.
