The grassroots strength of Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja continues to manifest across Oyo State as members of Team Arapaja in Ona-Ara and Ido Local Government Areas have formally joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In Ona-Ara LG on Saturday, September 19, 2026, the team led by Hon. Oduola Olumide Sunday (Alayàkí) officially identified with the APC during the party’s Local Government General Meeting. Among the prominent stakeholders who joined the movement were Hon. Motilade Adetimorin, former Oyo State House of Assembly candidate; Pastor Dairo; Elder Muritala Yussuf; Mrs. Omolara Oduola, former Local Government Woman Leader; Mrs. Bunmi Lawal; and Hon. Olatunbosun Bolaji, former APM councillorship aspirant, among others.
In Ido LG on Sunday, September 20, 2026, Hon. Lekan Lawal and Hon. Tunde Makinde led members of Team Arapaja into the APC, where they were received by the party leadership and executives.
The two developments further demonstrate the expanding grassroots network associated with Ambassador Arapaja, an institution in Oyo politics whose political influence continues to resonate across communities and local governments.
Speaking on the new direction, the respective leaders reaffirmed their commitment to grassroots mobilisation and declared support for the APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Sharafadeen Alli, alongside other candidates of the party.
The Ona-Ara and Ido developments come on the heels of other realignments involving members of Team Arapaja across the state. More local governments are expected to formally join the APC in the coming days as consultations and mobilisation continue.
