Oyo Government Gives Palliatives To Students In Tertiary Institutions

Oyo State Government on Wednesday gave COVID-19 palliatives to about two thousand students who are stranded at their various institutions of learning.

The Special Assistant to Governor Makinde on Students Affairs, Victor Olojede who coordinated the distribution of the palliatives told GOALPOACHER NEWS that ” the students will get the food palliatives through the Students Union Government of various tertiary institutions in Oyo State, students can also get it through the various Oyo State Indigenous students association.”

When asked if the palliatives would get across to the stranded students on campuses, Hon Victor said, “I can assure you that it will get across to the students since the exercise is being coordinated by my office, I have set up a monitoring team to ensure that students in the various institutions who are stranded due to the COVID-19 can have access to food.”
“I strongly believe the students leaders are people of good character and will not divert it for personal use.”

On his part, the President, University of Ibadan Students’ Union, Olusegun Akeju expressed his profound gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde the gesture.

“On behalf of the Students’ Union of University of Ibadan, I want to appreciate the Governor Seyi Makinde’s led administration for the palliatives given to us for our stranded Students who are still in school.”

“This is going to be a relief for everyone.
More so, it shows that the governor is very much a lover of the students and for that singular fact, we won’t take him for granted.”

“Also, we appreciate the S.A Students, for listening to the agitations of the Union Presidents and delivered on his promises. We are lucky to have such leader with integrity with us.”

As the UISU is known for integrity, we will share the palliatives appropriately before the end of the week.”
