Oyo PDP Congresses: State Party Excos That May Not Return• See The Intrigues

As the Oyo State Peoples Democratic Party congresses draw closer. The plot not to retain the state chairman, Alhaji Omokunmi Mustapha and other serving executives of the party has become a continuing story in the political life of the state.

Those who want Kunmi Mustapha out at all cost have been aggressive in recruiting converts.

At the last count by GOALPOACHER NEWS, there were hints that the god fathers who hitherto shielded Omokunmi have at last given way and all is now set for his removal.

Interestingly, each point raised against him stands logic on its head making it hard to sustain any charge.

A stalwart of the party from Oyo North who spoke with GOALPOACHER NEWS on condition of anonymity said Oke Ogun zone of Oyo North will retain the Chairmanship position.

He added that barring any last minute change, another party chieftain has been endorsed by the party leaders in the state and a powerful former Senator from Oyo North.

GOALPOACHER NEWS further gathered that the embattled Youth Leader, Asiwaju Adekola Adeoye will not return.

However, this online newspaper learnt that the office of the Youth Leader has reportedly been zoned to Oyo Central while Adekola hails from Ibadan Northwest of Oyo South.

Another twist to the zoning which hasn’t been made public by the party is that of the assistant Publicity Secretary of the Party. Michael Ogunsina and Personal Assistant to immediate past Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde, Prince Falana Adebowale are being favoured to clinch the position of the Youth Leader.

With the rumours doing the round that the office of the State Publicity Secretary of the party being occupied by Engr Akeem Olatunji from Oluyole Local Government in Oyo Central maybe zoned to another senatorial district. However, another party stalwart said the status quo for the PRO office will be retained.

Meanwhile, members of the party still await the zoning arrangement for the various party offices.
