Oyo state Local Government Service Commission in conjunction with the office of Sustainable Development Goals on Monday organised training for Heads of LG Administrators, Directors of Budget, Planning, Research and Statistics.
The Training which centred on localisation and domestication of the SDGs and Integration to budget implementation for SDGs Desk Officers at various Local Government and LCDA in Oyo State.
In a chat with GOALPOACHER NEWS correspondent, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Makinde on SDG, Hon Kunle Yusuf MON, said the training became necessary because SDGs Oyo State is preparing for Needs Assessments for 2020 grants and all the Head of Local Government Administrations (HLA) must be in the know and have better understanding of the SDGs concepts, particularly with the present epidemic around the world now.
Yusuf said, It’s when the workers are given adequate training that they will be able to give their best for delivery.
The Governor’s aide however appreciated the chairman and management of Local Government Service Commission for sponsoring the Training.
He noted that Sustainable Development Goals is technical and frequent training on the 17 Global Goals are required.
He stressed that in few weeks, the SDGs- Project Supports Unit and Technical Desk Officiers will be in all the 33 Local Government and LCDA for data collections of The Needs Assessments for 2020.
