The Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority, (OYRTMA) has commenced a two-day ICT training for men and officers of the Authority.

This, according to the Executive Chairman, Mogaji (Dr.) Akin Fagbemi is inline with His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde’s e-governance drive aimed at reducing the use of files and other paper works in order to ensure a faster, safer and more efficient service delivery.

The training, although starting with Commandants of the different formations and units is expected to spread to other officers and men of the Authority subsequently.

In his opening remarks, the Executive Chairman expressed profound gratitude to the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde for creating the opportunity for officers to acquire the all-important ICT knowledge that would not only enhance their Professional Development but also their personal efficiencies on the job.

He said, “while acknowledging the enormity and broadness of the ICT world, our objective is to extract the relevant applications and packages that would aid our drive in effectively managing the Road Transport System of Oyo State. This would be first of its kind and we sincerely appreciate the Governor for the kind gesture and provision of relevant ICT facilities”, he said.

He further said the exercise “would greatly impact the effectiveness of the officers”.
