The Nigerian Breweries Plc, on Wednesday, donated three operational vehicles to the Oyo State Road Transport Maintenance Agency OYRTMA as part of its corporate responsibility.
The Executive Chairman of the agency, Mogaji (Dr,) Akin Fagbemi, who took delivery of the brand new operational and surveillance power-bikes at the agency’s office in Secretariat, expressed great appreciation to the donor, adding that it was a positive achievement for the agency and the administration of Governor Makinde in ensuring free flow of human and vehicular traffic in some parts of the state.

In his words: “On behalf of His Excellency, Governor Makinde, we want to thank and appreciate them and we believe that this will extend to the state where we will be able to decongest the traffic as it were. So, I think this is a positive achievement for us again and to the government of Governor Makinde.”
Speaking on why some organisations are showing willingness to collaborate with the agency, he said that it was due to the positive drive of Governor Makinde to industrialise the state, adding “with this, we will be more committed to our duties and responsibilities.”
He said: “It takes goodwill for organisations to appreciate you. So, I think the secret is not far-fetched. It is because of the positive drive of the governor towards industrialisation in the state and the support we have received from the governor has really helped us in relating with corporate organisations and performing our duties in line with our mandates. So, with such, we are ready to work together with organisations and people and that is why you can see the support we are getting now, which is a plus to this government.
“We believe very strongly that we still have the opportunity of getting great support and we assure the people that with this support we are having, we are going to be more committed to the duties and responsibilities given to us by the agency to do the needful, which is traffic management, rescue operation for accident victims.”
The Corporate Manager of Nigerian Breweries, Mr Tayo Adelaja, in his remark while handing over the keys to Mogaji, said that the action of the organization towards the donation was geared towards supporting the Oyo State government in the aspect of good traffic management, which is a core objective of the OYRTMA.
In his words: “Nigerian Breweries, being a good corporate citizen of Nigeria decided to extend the hand of fellowship to OYRTMA, not minding what the current economic situation and other contending lieu for money. Within the limit of the capability of what we can still do, we feel that it is important for us to do this. It is our pleasure in doing this for the agency.
“Since Mogaji took over, we can confirm that we have a friend in the agency and our ultimate dream is to actually have a friend in everybody.
“We are really determined to support the Oyo State government and, in this case, OYRTMA in terms of traffic management. For us as a manufacturer, we know that with good traffic management, which this administration has put in place, if we are able to support the government, our own supply chain activities can work out as we have planned. We also feel the government cannot do it alone because it has never happened anywhere in the world. So, that is why we have to partner with Oyo State Government to get this done.”
