PHOTOS: Sunday Igboho Led Hoodlums That Attacked us, Burnt Our Huts- Seriki Fulani Tells Oyo Government

Oyo state government has called for peaceful co-existence among the Yoruba and tfulani nationality in the state.

 

The Executive Assistant to Governor Makinde on Security Matters, Mr Sunday Odukoya, made the appeal when he visited the Seriki Fulani of Oyo state, Alhaji Saliu Abubakar at his residence in Igan-gan , Ibarapa North .

The visit was sequel to the attack on the fulani colony that was allegedly carried out by some suspected hoodlums alleged to have been led by Mr Sunday Igboho.

Receiving the Executive Assistant to Governor Makinde on Security Matters, Mr Sunday Odukoya to his Seriki Alagolo residence Igan-gan town, the Seriki Fulani , Alhaji Saliu Abubakar who spoke through one of his sons, alleged that some men led by Mr Sunday Igboho launched an attack on the fulani’s threatening them with an ultimatum to leave the southwest region of Nigeria within seven days, else they will be further dealt with.

According to Seriki, several people sustained varying degrees of injuries after they were attacked by the Invaders while about nine huts were also razed.

While appealing to the fulani’s on behalf of the state government to be law abiding and not take laws into their hands with any form of reprisal attack, Mr Sunday Odukoya promised that the matters shall be investigated in due course.

Some residents who counted their loses, said the whole incident caught them by surprise.

They however, appealed to the government to come to their aid.

While speaking with newsmen a member of Igan-gan advocate, Mr Oguntade Blessing affirmed that there was an attack on some farmers namely Seun Isaiah and Jamiu Junaid who were returning from their farms same day the Invaders went to the Fulani’s settlement.

Mr Odukoya was later led to the scene where houses and other properties were set on fire by the Invaders.

He also visited some victims of the attacks in the hospitals to ascertain the level of their injuries and to deliver the state government message.
