USE AJIMOBI’S SECURITY TEMPLATE, MEDIA CHIEF COUNSELS MAKINDE

Elder Kayode Bamiduro, former Head of Mitv/Star FM Ibadan and Media Aide to late Governor Abiola Ajimobi has decried the present state of security in Oyo State and called on the State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde to rise up to the occasion by facing the menace headlong.

In a statement in Ibadan, Elder Bamiduro condemned the rising cases of banditry, looting, kidnapping and other criminal activities in the state, describing it as highly disturbing and embarrassing to Makinde’s Government.

According to him, it was high time for the Governor to put politics aside and deploy all necessary means to arrest the ugly trend before it becomes uncontrollable.

The Media Aide added that it won’t be out of place at this critical time for the Governor to use the template adopted by his predecessor, late Senator Abiola Ajimobi to curb the excesses of the hoodlums, who may have taken the friendly approach of the Governor for liberty to perpetrate criminal activities in the state.

He pointed out many havoc committed by these street urchins as including blocking of roads and extorting money from motorists, passersby, looting, daylight robberies, land grabbing and a lot more.

He counselled further that the personnel of the recently launched Amotekun should undergo integrity training in other to enhance their performance, while there should be a synergy between them and other security arms of Government.

He concluded that there is no doubt that Oyo state witnessed lasting peace in the eight years of former Governor Ajimobi because of the premium attention he paid to security matters in the state, warning that unless the Governor changes his present approach to criminals and criminalities, the state will know no peace.

Elder Bamiduro condemned a recent report where a Mogaji was said to be negotiating with hoodlums and begging them to stop their unlawful activities, describing the action as laughable and ridiculous to say the least.
