A source within the Oyo State Government has dismissed reports that soldiers prevented Governor Seyi Makinde’s delegation from accessing the rescued victims of the Oriire abduction at the 2 Division Medical Centre, Military Hospital, Ibadan.
Speaking on condition of anonymity with Goalpoachernews, the aide described the reports as inaccurate, insisting that the state government’s medical team was granted access to the victims.
”That information about Makinde’s delegation being barred from accessing the rescued victims is incorrect. The medical team from the State Government was allowed access, and that included Prof. Temitope Alonge and the Commissioner for Health,” the source said.
The aide explained that military personnel informed government officials that everyone seeking access to the rescued victims would undergo profiling as part of standard security procedures.
According to the source, while some aides to the governor were allowed into the facility, others remained outside awaiting Governor Seyi Makinde’s arrival and the completion of the security screening process.

Commissioner for Health Dr Ajetumobi and Professor Temitope Alonge were granted access to the victims.
The clarification followed earlier reports alleging that soldiers barred the state government’s delegation from visiting the victims, who regained their freedom on Friday after spending 56 days in captivity.
The source maintained that the military’s actions were purely routine security measures and not an attempt to prevent the Oyo State Government from seeing the rescued victims.
