NOA Urges Residents of Oko Community to Embrace Peaceful Coexistence

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) on Thursday urged the people of Oko community in Oyo State to shun violence and embrace peaceful coexistence in the interest of the nation.

The Oyo State Director of NOA, Mr Moshood Olaleye, gave the advice when the agency took the unity campaign to the residents of Oko town in Surulere Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

Olaleye, who led the campaign, also urged the residents to unite irrespective of their ethnic and religious affiliations.

He called on the traditional ruler of the community, Oba Solomon Olagoke, to assist the agency in educating his subject on harmonious and peaceful coexistence.

“Tell them to avoid taking the law into their hands or actions that can cause violence in the society,’’ he said.

Olaleye told the people to beware of fake news about the COVID-19 vaccine.

He said that the Federal Government had invested so much in buying the vaccines for the benefits of Nigerians, adding that they should take advantage of it to protect themselves against the pandemic.

Earlier, Oba Olagoke had said that security of lives and property must be taken seriously by the government.

The traditional ruler promised to assist government in its efforts to secure his subject, as well as educate them on the COVID-19 prevention protocols.
