    Akinyele South LCDA Chair, Kazeem Adekunle Declares Zero Tolerance for Flooding

    Akinyele South LCDA boss, Hon Ahmed Kazeem Adekunle has promised to continue dredging of rivers to give way for the free flow of water, so as to prevent recurrence of flooding in parts of the council area.

    Hon Kazeem stated this while speaking with GOALPOACHER NEWS during the inspection of areas and places affected by the flood that ravaged Ibadan attributed human activities such as indiscriminate dumping of refuse on waterways as one of the factors responsible for the flooding.


    “We have seen the extent of the damage done by the flooding. We will continue to dredge canals in the council to allow for free passage of water, we have declared zero tolerance for flooding in our council.”


    “The effect of human activities, that is building on waterways and indiscriminate dumping of refuse inside stream and rivers are factors responsible for what we are seeing here. We can all see the devastating effect that these have caused.”

    “We have started dredging Ajibode river, we are moving to Lagbe, Owekanku, Aroro Makinde and Igbooloyin.”
