The Ajia Balogun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oloye Adegboyega Adegoke, has said it is unrealistic that Nigerians will obey the government’s stay-at-home order if they have not received any palliative from government. He said faced with hunger, people who live on daily earnings would find it difficult to comply with the government’s stay-at-home order. To encourage compliance, Adegoke called for effectiveness in the manner government’s palliatives were being distributed to ensure they reach the targeted vulnerable citizens. Some unknown gunmen have  allegedly kidnapped two children belonging to a popular Islamic scholar in Ibadan, Sheikh Taofeek Akeugbagold. The incident occurred on Saturday night at about 8pm around Ojoo area, Ibadan. Akeugbagold,  who alerted members of the public on the sad development through his Facebook account said, “What a country! Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, has relaxed the coronavirus lockdown imposed on the state and has asked churches to commence full activities. The governor stated this in a broadcast to the people of the state on Saturday evening. Before the broadcast, church activities had been restricted for 14 days as one of the measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
