…Praises Makinde for Promoting Workers’ Welfare

‎As the world marks May Day, Hon. Kolawole Adedeji, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, has joined in celebrating Nigerian workers, describing them as the driving force behind national productivity and development.

‎In his goodwill message to mark the 2026 Workers’ Day celebration, Adedeji commended the resilience, commitment, and sacrifices of workers across all sectors of the economy.

He lauded Governor Seyi Makinde for enhancing civil servants welfare since 2019 till date.

‎He noted that despite prevailing economic pressures, Nigerian workers continue to demonstrate unwavering dedication to duty and nation-building.

‎He described this year’s May Day as a reminder of the need for stronger policies and sustained advocacy to improve the welfare, dignity, and working conditions of the labour force.

‎“Nigerian workers remain the backbone of our nation’s development. Their resilience in the face of economic challenges is both inspiring and deserving of greater support and protection,” he said.

‎Adedeji reaffirmed his commitment to prioritising workers’ interests if elected to represent Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.

‎He pledged to champion legislative initiatives aimed at strengthening labour protections, ensuring fair remuneration, improving workplace conditions, and expanding opportunities for skill development and employment security.

‎“If elected, I will ensure that workers’ welfare becomes a central focus of my legislative agenda. We must build laws that protect workers, reward their efforts, and improve their quality of life,” he added.

‎According to him, a prosperous society cannot be built without a motivated and well-supported workforce, stressing that workers remain central to economic growth and social stability.

‎He further assured constituents that his representation would be anchored on people-focused policies that reflect the aspirations of the working class and the broader population.

‎Adedeji called for continued unity and collective action among stakeholders, urging stronger collaboration between government and labour unions to build a more inclusive and productive society where workers’ contributions are fully recognised and rewarded.

‎“We must work together; government, labour, and stakeholders to create a system where dignity of labour is not just spoken about, but actively protected and promoted,” he stated.

‎He concluded by wishing all workers a happy May Day celebration, while reaffirming his commitment to standing firmly with them in pursuit of better welfare and improved conditions of service.
