    Oluokun holds monthly peace and security meeting

    Hon Oluokun Peter Olusola, the Executive Chairman of Oyo East Local Government today Thursday 14th November, 2024, held its monthly peace and security meeting of its local Government area.

    The meeting, a regular event aimed at fostering collaboration between traditional rulers, religious leaders and security agencies, provided an opportunity for key Stakeholders to assess the current security landscape in the community and discuss proactive measures to curb crime and promote peace.

    During the meeting, community leaders, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and members of various security agencies reported their activities and shared insight on the security challenges currently facing some new community.

    Issues such as robbery and drug-related offenses were discussed, with all parties agreeing on the need for increased vigilance and stronger cooperation between the residents of our local Government and law enforcement agencies.

    Furthermore, the issues of Fulanis and farmers was extensively discussed and all the attendees were in support of the chairman and Oyo East Legislative arms to go ahead with their bye law to regulate the activities of these so called Herdsmen.
    In his remarks, the council chairman expressed his gratitude to the security agencies for their tireless efforts in maintaining peace and order. He reassured residents of Oyo East that the he would continue to prioritize security of lives and properties, pledging more support and resources for the security apparatus in the area.

    The chairman also called community members to remain proactive in reporting suspicious activities, stressing that security is a collective responsibility.

    As the meeting concluded, attendees reaffirmed their commitment to create a safer environment for all residents
