OMI-APATA LCDA BOSS FROWNS AT ILLEGAL FISH PONDS THAT BLOCK WATER WAYS IN THE COUNCIL AREA.

The Caretaker Chairman of Omi-Apata Local Council Development Area Hon Sheriff Adeojo has expressed displeasure at the rate in which the residents of the council area block water passage especially illegal fish ponds owners, disposal of refuse in drainages, rivers and streams.

Hon Sheriff Adeojo stated this during an inspection of the on-going dredging of streams and rivers within the council area in order to prevent perennial flooding.

The council chairman discovered at Jamoje that many illegal fish ponds are preventing easy flow of water in the area . He however advised the fish ponds owners to find a win-win solution because the LCDA would not want to destroy means of livelihood of the residents and at the same time would want to prevent flooding that could lead to loss of lives and properties.

In their various responses, the representatives of Jamoje Community Development Association comrade Adesina Adedamola and Pethel Estate Mr. Oladimeji Fasoyin appreciated Hon Sheriff Adeojo for embarking on dredging of streams in their areas.
