‎Chairmanship aspirants, party executives and critical stakeholders of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Saki West Local Government Area of Oyo State have unanimously adopted Hon. Gbenga Akinola as the party’s consensus chairmanship candidate for the forthcoming local government election.

‎The unanimous decision was reached after extensive consultations and rigorous deliberations among the party’s chairmanship aspirants, ward executives and stakeholders across the local government.

‎According to a resolution jointly signed by the aspirants, executives and stakeholders, all differences were resolved amicably in the overall interest of the party’s unity, cohesion and electoral success.

‎The seven chairmanship aspirants who endorsed the consensus arrangement are Hon. Gbenga Akinola, Ayedun Donwa, Alhaji Yekeen Tadeola, Shamorekan Salu, Busari O. Muideen, Alhaji Seyi Aremu and Alhaji Sarafadeen. The aspirants unanimously consented to Akinola’s emergence and pledged to mobilise support for his candidature ahead of the election.

‎The resolution stated that Akinola’s endorsement was informed by his record of service over the last three years, his experience and achievements in office. It urged all party members, executives and stakeholders to unite behind the consensus candidate to ensure the APM records a resounding victory in the forthcoming local government election.

‎Also endorsing the resolution were party executives, including Ward 2 Chairman, Ogundiran Suleiman; Ward 3 Chairman, Aridabo Samuel; Ward 6 Chairman, Hassan Rasheed; Ward 9 Chairman, Jimoh Suleiman Ademola; APM Chairman in Saki West, Alhaji Idris Atoyebi Afora; Party Secretary, Moshood Timothy A.; Public Relations Officer, Shakiru S. Sulaqdeeni; Youth Leader, Abdullateef Waleyho; Woman Leader, Kasim Salaudeen; Organising Secretary, Ganiyu Suleiman; and Ward Leader, Suleiman Monsuru.

‎The consensus resolution also received the endorsement of party stakeholders from different wards, including Oladejo Timothy (Ward 3), Alhaji Rakeem Tajudeen (Ward 2), Rasaki Azeez (Ward 11), Alhaji Paul Jubril (Ward 11), Hon. Jacob (Ward 3), Adebiyi Christopher (Ward 5), Alhaji Olawunmi (Ward 5) and Iya Iseyin (Ward 9).

‎The stakeholders further appealed to Governor Seyi Makinde to approve and recognise Hon. Gbenga Akinola as the APM consensus chairmanship candidate for Saki West Local Government, expressing confidence that the unanimous decision would strengthen the party’s chances of securing victory at the polls.

‎They reaffirmed their loyalty to Governor Makinde and the leadership of the Allied Peoples Movement, pledging to remain united and committed to delivering another overwhelming electoral victory for the party in Saki West Local Government.
